Many contacts, few confidants
Your phone is full of names, yet when something hurts you struggle to think of who to call. Not because people do not care, but because you do not want to be the one who takes up space.
You have colleagues, friends, family and a calendar for everything. Even so, there may be things you do not know who to talk to about. Many leaders recognise that, and it says nothing against you.
This site describes sessions with the authorised psychologist Frank for leaders and professionals in Egå and North Aarhus. The sessions are offered by djursland-psykologen.dk. The main site is in Danish.
The conversations can be held in English, both in person in Mørke and online. Egå is close enough for an evening session to be realistic: Mørke is roughly half an hour by car. If you would rather stay at home, online works as a supplement.
Your phone is full of names, yet when something hurts you struggle to think of who to call. Not because people do not care, but because you do not want to be the one who takes up space.
Staff, family and friends expect you to have things in hand. So you do. But who do you lean on when you are tired to the bone?
You do not want to bring work through the front door, so you stop talking about it. After a while it becomes hard to talk about everything else too.
In a conversation with a psychologist you do not have to think about how it sounds or what the other person will do with it. You can think aloud and change your mind. The sessions fall under the psychologist's duty of confidentiality, and they move at your pace.
The sessions are individual and held at a fixed time every week, in the evening, with the same psychologist throughout. Online sessions are ordinary conversations by video, held from wherever you can talk undisturbed. You do not need a finished explanation. Knowing that something weighs on you is enough, and you can focus on loneliness in the role, strained relationships, or the feeling that you know everyone else better than yourself.
The conversations are about you and how you are, not about performing somewhere else.
Frank is an authorised psychologist (autoriseret psykolog), authorisation ID 0H2Y3, which you can look up in the register of the Danish Patient Safety Authority. He graduated from Aarhus University in 2005 and was authorised in 2011. He has worked as a crisis psychologist and clinical lead, and he has been CEO of a venture-funded high-tech start-up with international sales and scaling. Strategy, finances and staff were his responsibility, in both public and private organisations.
His approach is integrative and humanistic, drawing on relational, narrative and existential thinking as well as cognitive behavioural therapy. The sessions suit leaders, founders and busy professionals, including those with an international background.
